Shih Tzu photo collage, made from your own photos
The topknot that never stays put. The little underbite. The soft snore from the warm spot on your lap. The way she sweeps across the kitchen like royalty. A Shih Tzu photo collage is cut to a Shih Tzu in a full, floor-length coat, topknot up and tail plume curled high, and filled with every photo of her. It's the classic look, the one from old paintings and the show ring, made from your own pictures.

How many photos fit
Every figure comes from the layout engine rather than a rule of thumb. The suggested count is where each photo prints about two inches across, big enough to make out a face from across the room. The minimum is 9 photos; below that, parts of the outline can be left without a photo. The Shih Tzu is a little wider than tall, and her photos print largest on a square sheet, such as 20 × 20″ or 24 × 24″.

Questions
Does it work for any coat color?
Yes. Gold and white, black and white, brindle, liver, silver or solid black, the outline doesn't mind. It has no color of its own; your photos bring hers in.
Why can't I see her legs or face?
Because the outline shows a Shih Tzu in a full show coat, long enough to sweep the floor. In that coat the legs and face disappear under the hair, just as they do in real life. Many owners keep a short puppy cut instead, and that's fine. The classic long coat is what makes the shape say Shih Tzu, and your photos show her any way you like her. The full coat also fills its frame well, so there's plenty of room for pictures.
Can I use it as a memorial?
Yes. A Shih Tzu is a constant companion, often for many years, and the quiet after is real. A print of her shape filled with those years can help. Our pet memorial photo collages page has gentle ideas for the photos and the words.
